Meet Your Principal

Hello, Nichols Middle School Families!

My name is Dr. Shelethia McGruder, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Nichols Middle School. Whether you are returning to our school or joining the Tiger family for the first time, I want you to know how excited I am to begin this journey with you.

I believe that every child deserves a school where they feel safe, respected, supported, and challenged to reach their highest potential. My goal is to ensure that Nichols Middle School is a place where students not only achieve academic success but also develop confidence, character, and a genuine love for learning.

As principal, I believe in being visible, approachable, and present. I value open communication with students, parents, and staff because the strongest schools are built on trust, collaboration, and mutual respect. Together, we can create a positive school culture where everyone feels welcomed, heard, and empowered to succeed.

Our theme this year, "Tigers On The Rise," reminds us that success is not about perfection—it is about growth. Every day is a new opportunity to learn, improve, encourage one another, and become the very best versions of ourselves.

Parents, thank you for allowing us to partner with you in your child's education. Your support and involvement make a tremendous difference, and I encourage you to stay engaged throughout the school year.
